Thank you for your interest in Community Independence Solutions, PLLC.--Special Needs Driving School and Driver Rehabilitation.

We are an Occupational Therapy Practice specializing in training individuals with Special Needs to drive.

Conventional insurances do not typically cover our services, and as such we recommend applying for funding through a payer source prior to exploring your Private Pay options.

We look forward to working with you in the near future. So that we can make sure your path to driving is a seamless one, please follow the recommended steps to get started

Schedule a FREE Driver Readiness Consultation with a  member of our team. This interview will help us assess your individual needs and driving goals. We are here to help to get to your destination as seamlessly as possible!

Apply for Financial Assistance

Please visit our Financial Assistance page to assess your payer source options and apply for services. Texas Workforce is recommended for those of working age (14+). SAILS is recommended for those unable to work or retired (must not have income above and beyond SSDI).  If going through a payer source, they will reach out to us once services have been approved to set up a Comprehensive Driving Evaluation.

We also accept CareCredit. Feel free to reach out directly if you do not qualify for payer sources and would like to discuss your Private Pay options.

A Valid Driver's License or Learner's Permit is required prior to beginning Driver Training

**New/First Time Drivers: Although not required, we highly recommend acquiring a Learner's Permit prior to your initial Driving Evaluation.

 

If you have not yet obtained a learner's permit visit our Prep to Drive page by clicking the link below to register for driver's education either the "Parent-Taught" if under 18 or "Adult" self-paced program if 18+

You must make an appointment with DPS after completing the online Driver's Education course with all required documents in order to receive your Learner's Permit

Physician Referral

Since we are an Occupational Therapy practice, a physician's referral is required prior to receiving services. Please reach out to one of your attending physician's and ask them to fax a prescription/physician order for "Driver Evaluation & Training", demographics and most recent H&P (History & Physical) to 210.634.2652

DriveFocus App

Although this step is not mandatory, we highly recommend that you download and utilize this app. It is best suited for use on a tablet and builds divided attention skills by simulating various driving scenarios. More information about this app can be found by clicking the link below
